The Saturday Night clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan
The situation at the Durand Line between Afghanistan and Pakistan turned tense after the Pakistan Army bombarded Kabul earlier in the week. The Afghan Taliban attacked Pakistani posts in Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul, Paktika, Paktia, Khost, Nangarhar, and Kunar provinces.

Pakistan, meanwhile, has claimed that the purpose of the attack was to facilitate the entry of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) into Pakistani Territory. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said in a social media post, “Firing by Afghan forces on civilian population is a blatant violation of international laws. Pakistan’s brave forces have given a prompt and effective response that no provocation will be tolerated.”
