The image of the Kashmir girl hugging a teacher has caused an outrage. One user said that ‘Qayamat’ is near now that Hijabi girls are hugging non-Muslim men.

Orthodox Kashmiri Muslims viciously trolled and abused a Kashmiri girl on social media for hugging a teacher. Reports indicate that visuals were captured during a Physicswallah event in Anantnag, Kashmir. Several X accounts, claiming to be from Kashmir, declared that it is against Kashmiri culture.

Orthodox Kashmiri Muslims have called for a boycott of Physicswallah over the photograph. They used abusive language against the girl and her parents.

Another user said that they have failed as a society. The user described the act as a “moral rot” and said it is a time for introspection.

Orthodox Kashmiris condemned the girl for hugging someone who is not her ‘Mehram’. ‘Mehram’ is an Arabic term that refers to an individual with whom marriage cannot happen, such as father, brother and son.

One user said that ‘Qayamat’ is near now that Hijabi girls are openly hugging non-Muslim men.

There has been consistent outrage from the orthodox elements of Kashmiri Muslim society about what they see as dilution of Islamic values. Not too long, Muslims in Kashmir created a massive outrage over a fashion show in the Union Territory.

Physicswallah ‘Aagaz’ event in Kashmir

Physicswallah organised an event called ‘Aagaz’ at Anantnag where members of the faculty met their students. The institution runs several coaching centres in the Union Territory. The event marked the launch of a new academic session for IIT-JEE and NEET aspirants. Aroshi, Pankaj, Vipin, Surjeet and Tulika were some of the faculty who attended the event. The event was held on Sunday.

Physicswallah has a ‘hybrid coaching centre’ in Anantnag. The education includes “in-centre classes, recorded lectures, comprehensive study modules, and scheduled assessments.” It claims to be “a cohesive mix of physical classroom teaching and digital learning.”
