Asim Munir, son of a maulvi, is a Hafiz-e-Quran and a product of Pakistan Studies. Pakistan Army considers itself to be the rightful heir of Jinnah and its Islamist ideology, and being head of the Pakistan Army, he considers himself the main propagator and protector of this ideology. The ranting on 15 April 2025 in front of Overseas Pakistanis was to give a message to the larger Pakistani audience and to consolidate his de-facto rule in Pakistan, which was being beaten down by a series of lapses, whether in terms of increasing terrorism or economic instability and challenges to military inc. projects or to steer politics of the country as per his will.
Pakistan Generals are famous for their whisky scenes, from Ayub Khan to Yahya Khan to Musharraf, but Asim Munir is more than a Whisky General; he is a mixologist. Asim Munir was the Bartender who gave the essence of Pakistan in his speech by mixing ‘Jinnah—Two Nation Theory edition’ and ‘Peer Baba ka Dum wala Pani’, a deadly cocktail, and serving it on the house.

Asim Munir parroted the idea of the Two Nation theory that Hindus and Muslims are two different nations. He stated ways where Hindus and Muslims are different – religion, traditions, customs, thoughts and ambitions but didn’t say anything about the DNA and language which Punjabis share the same including the curses that are common and well understood. Also, he didn’t explain why East Pakistan left their nationhood in less than 25 years, possibly because their Bangla was weak and couldn’t understand what Bengalis said while being tortured and killed.
Next Munir blabbered about the destiny of Pakistan i.e. Balochistan which is almost half of the country and has been fuelling Pakistan since its creation though Baloch themselves don’t even have water, schools, hospitals or electricity. He says Baloch can’t claim sovereignty for the next ten generations, however, Pakistan has failed to assimilate the Baloch since its creation and branded women-led civil society organizations like the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) as terrorists, this shows how much Pakistan is scared by women-run organization.
He even compared Balochistan with ‘Mathe ka Jhumar’ (Head Ornament), a Jhumar is just for show and is only flaunted on occasion to the outsiders, by comparing Balochistan with a Jhumar what he meant that it is not as important as a body part and can be exchanged, pawned or sold if required.
WHAT ASIM MUNIR SAID ABOUT KASHMIR
Talking about body parts, Munir also ranted about Pakistan’s Jugular vein i.e. Kashmir and said that Pakistan will always support Kashmiris in their struggle. Though Pakistan wants to give all support to Kashmiris in India but has paid hardly any attention to Kashmiris in Pakistan. Pakistan’s interests in Kashmir are limited to water only which is the lifeline of Pakistan and military inc. projects. Pakistan’s support for their alleged Kashmir cause is only through terrorism as they don’t have the heart or the liver to fight India. The General of the so-called Islamic atom bomb republic shamelessly boasted how Pakistan raised the voices in the strongest terms for Gazans while seeing Iran firing missiles over Israel and taking the brunt.
He also applauded the brain drain and wanted it to continue indefinitely because an individual going out would be one less responsibility as he might die on the donkey route and if not then at least he would send remittances to keep Pakistan’s boat afloat.
Like any Mixologist, not only does he have to make the cocktail well but also sell this cocktail to his customers as something special and different, so that they keep yearning for more. This deadly cocktail will initially give you the happy high but more consumption will result in hangovers, liver failure and ultimately death.
