The e-SIM for outbound Nigerian travelers is expected to launch in the second quarter of 2025.
According to the corporation, users will just need to pay for “competitively priced data packages” and will not be subject to roaming fees.
The coverage area will include well-known travel locations for Nigerians, including the US, Canada, and the UK.
According to the MNVNO, the partnership with Tata is consistent with the West African nation’s digitization efforts, and the e-SIM rollout is a component of EMOSIM’s telecom and connectivity services plan.
Tata Communications’ MVNO technology infrastructure, which is thought to represent a common vision for digital inclusivity and technological advancement that is in line with Nigeria’s dedication to telecom innovation, would be used by EMOSIM to provide network services.
EMOSIM’s chief commercial and operations officer, Aditya Raj Khosla, made the following statement in response to the launch: “EMOSIM’s borderless mobile experience is designed to cater to Nigeria’s growing community of frequent travelers, digital entrepreneurs, and remote workers, making global connectivity more accessible than ever before.”
According to EMOSIM CEO Karn Gulati, the relationship is about the potential in the Nigerian market.
Gulati continued, saying: “MVNO licenses were introduced to reach the underserved market and make sure that no Nigerian is left behind by the smartphone revolution.” We can accelerate Nigeria’s adoption of digital technology by collaborating with Tata Communications.
“With over 1.2 million Nigerians traveling annually, the travel e-SIM is a perfect launch product in the incredibly promising travel segment alone.”
EMOSIM seeks to provide unparalleled network dependability, smooth user experiences, and expedited digital adoption in Nigeria by utilizing the industry-leading MVNE platform with essential features like Integrated KYC, Digital onboarding, interoperability, and more by Tata Communications MOVETM. Nigeria’s dedication to telecoms innovation is in line with our partnership with EMOSIM, which highlights a common ambition for technological advancement and digital inclusiveness.
