Pakistan refused to accept top ring leaders of a Rochdale Grooming gang from UK after the criminals ripped up their Pakistani passports and renounced Pakistani Citizenships.
Rauf and Khan had renounced their Pakistani citizenship before the 2018 court ruling to deport them out of UK. Aziz, the third criminal, tore his Pakistani passport in order to escape deportation.
Pakistan in return asked UK for justification on what grounds should Pakistan accept such dangerous criminals into the country. According to Pakistan, Rauf, Khan and Aziz are no more Pakistani nationals.
But the interior ministry in Pakistan hinted at some kind of negotiations that might help in the case. “If the UK engages in negotiations with Pakistan on this matter, progress could be made.” Pakistani sources also mentioned how did UK propose to deport criminals if all flights between UK and Pakistan remains suspended.
Khan 54 and Rauf 55, led a child grooming gang which sexually assaulted 47 girls after luring them with alcohol and money. They abused girls as young as 12 years of age. Khan apparently fathered a child with a thirteen year old girl. Khan was given an 8 year jail term while Rauf was jailed for six years. Both were to leave UK after they served their jail term.

In another case, seven men were found guilty of raping and assaulting two teenage girls in Rochdale for five years. In the Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court hearing it was stated that the girls had difficult lives at home and were also given drugs, alcohol and cigarettes by these men. The prosecution stated, “children passed around for sex, abused, degraded and then discarded”, further adding “They became sex slaves.”
It is worth noting that UK has suspended all flights to and from Pakistan after the 2020 fake Pilot license scandal in Pakistan. The pilot scandal of Pakistan had uncovered that 150 out of 434 commercial pilots in Pakistan had fake licenses or cheated during exams.
Recently, Pakistan demanded that all bans be lifted so that Pakistani Flights can resume their operation to Britain. This is a part of a broader diplomacy to lift the airlines ban in exchange of Pakistan accepting the criminal deportees from UK.
