US President Donald Trump met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa during his trip to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was hosted by the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. Ahmed al-Sharaa is a former terrorist associated with al-Nusra, the Syrian affiliate of Al Qaeda.

Karoline Leavitt, Trump’s Press Secretary, said in a statement that Turkey’s President Erdogan joined the meeting by phone. Erdogan and bin-Salman praised Donald Trump profusely for lifting the sanctions on Syria and vowed to to work together to encourage peace and prosperity in the country ravaged by more than a decade of civil war.

Donald Trump has asked Ahmed al-Sharaa to sign the Abraham Accords with Israel and deport Palestinian terrorists from the country, Leavitt said in the statement. The Syrian President was also asked to help the United States prevent the resurgence of ISIS in the country and assume responsibility for ISIS Detention Centers in the northeastern regions of the country.

While Donald Trump has been praised for lifting the sanctions on Syria, it is only natural that the sanctions have been lifted since they have served their purpose. The sanctions were imposed as part of the USA’s broader mission to remove Basshar al-Assad from power.

The USA also funded, trained and armed Syrian ‘rebels’ as part of CIA’s covert operation ‘Timber Sycamore‘. The CIA was well aware that most of these ‘rebels’ were terrorists affiliated to either Al Nusra, Al Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate, or ISIS. The arms and ammunitions that were funnelled to these rebels more often than not ended up with Al Qaeda and ISIS.

The meeting between Donald Trump and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is the only public confirmation of a relationship that has existed between American intelligence agencies and the former Al Qaeda terrorist for years. Jake Sullivan, Joe Biden’s National Adviser, told Hillary Clinton in an email as early as 2012 that Al Qaeda was on the side of the USA in Syria. Al Qaeda is the same organisation that conducted the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
