Elon Musk vs Donald Trump! Tesla CEO wants to kill the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’: All that has happened so far

House Speaker Mike Johnson has revealed that Elon Musk is not receiving his phone calls. Musk’s changed stance on the Bill surprised him, he admitted.

Elon Musk vs Donald Trump! Tesla CEO wants to kill the 'Big Beautiful Bill': All that has happened so far

Elon Musk has come out strongly against Donald Trump over the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ passed recently by the US House of Representatives. The Senate is yet to vote on the Congressional Spending Bill. The US President has been all praise for the Bill. However, the Tech Billionaire who helped him massively to win the Presidency is far from being impressed.

The Tesla CEO has openly called for US citizens to call their Senators and Congressmen demanding that they vote against the Bill. Elon Musk fears that the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ will pave the path towards Debt Slavery.

Musk has dubbed the Bill as the ‘Debt Slavery Bill’. He claims that the bill would add $2.4 Trillion to the already burgeoning US National Debt over the next decade. According to Musk, if the national deficit is allowed to increase indiscriminately, then there will not be much money left for essential services after interest payments on the debt. The ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ will thus lead to ‘Debt Slavery’.

Musk also shared a poster of the cult classic movie ‘Kill Bill’, a not-so-subtle message in the context of the Congressional Spending Budget. He announced his opposition to the Bill calling it a ‘disgusting abomination’.

While Musk had so far refrained from attacking Donald Trump directly over the Bill, his patience appears to have run out. On Thursday, the world’s richest man dug out old tweets of the US President where the latter criticised Republicans for extending the debt ceiling.

He also quote tweeted another tweet from 2013 where Donald Trump is seen asserting that Congressmen should not be eligible for reelection if they could not balance the budget.

Elon Musk has announced that he will back a Bill that seeks to do precisely that: Ban Congressmen and Senators from running for reelection if they cannot present a balanced budget.

Elon Musk motivated by personal vendetta?

The Big Beautiful Bill has a provision to eliminate a $7500 incentive for Electric Vehicle buyers. It is estimated that Tesla could face a potential loss up to $2.2 Billion as a consequence. Critics of Musk have speculated that it could be a potential reason why he is so much against the Bill. However, Musk has said on X that he does not mind the ‘unfair’ provision and that his main concern is the “mountain of disgusting pork” in the Bill.

Representative Thomas Massie has also said that it is disingenuous to claim that Musk “is against the Big Beautiful Bill because it doesn’t benefit his companies specifically.” Massie went on to add, “Musk is a true America First entrepreneur who could have had a much more comfortable existence and a higher net worth by sitting on the sidelines of politics. But he cares about this country, so he got involved. He knows if America collapses financially, we aren’t making it to Mars. He’s right.”

It is clear, however, that Elon Musk is campaigning hard against the Bill because it will decimate much of the progress that he claims his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has made. He has said on X, “It more than defeats all the cost savings achieved by the DOGE team at great personal cost and risk.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson has revealed that Elon Musk is not receiving his phone calls. However, he mentioned that these are policy differences and he does not take it personally. He said, “I think he’s flat wrong. I think he’s way off on this and I have told him as much, and I have said it publicly and privately and I have been very consistent in that.”

Mike Johnson claims that he had spoken with Musk about the Bill on Monday. He said that the conversation had ended on a great note. Musk’s reversal 24 hours later surprised him, he admitted. Johnson further stated that Donald Trump is not pleased with Musk’s about-face on the Bill.
