Meteoric rise of AI images in the social media space is there for the world to see. However, there have been instances where AI apps are being misused by users to generate lewd images of women. Recently Grok triggered an alarm as it slips into generating lewd pictures of women.
In one such incident, popular American Twitch streamer Brooke Ashley Bond has complained about her lewd picture created online using Grok. She has turned off her settings and blocked Grok. But this did not stop users from editing her pics online. It only prevented her from seeing those pics.
update: turning off settings & blocking grok hasn’t stopped them from editing my photos, only stopped me from being able to see them :/

Her tweets clearly indicate that there’s no safety net on X. She said, “I know its the “internet” and people can edit or do stuff like this blah blah blah I am more concerned with the fact it’s the official X AI making suggestive content of my face.”
Well, this is not the first time when the AI Tool has been misused by perverts. Last month, Kenyans raised alarm when it started to undress images of women online based on prompts by X users. Similar cases were reported from India where perverts were playing with prompts to bypass Grok’s content generation restrictions.
When Grok was asked about the safety of users and the content moderation guidelines it follows, it apologised saying, “This highlights a gap in our safeguards, which failed to block a harmful prompt, violating our ethical standards on consent and privacy.”
Brooke Ashley Bond is not the only woman who has suffered at the hands of the AI Tool on X. There is widespread usage of the AI Tool by perverts to generate lewd pictures of women. We have chosen not to include more instances in order to not victimise the women further.
NSFW Content on Grok
As per reports, Grok is built and trained with a significant amount of NSFW Content, so the generation of NSFW images and texts without restrictions is not surprising. Other AI models like Chat GPT, Gemini, have definite content filter system while Grok allows users to create any type of content.
Grok 3 has a ‘sexy mode’ for Premium Plus X users. Users have shared their experiences of the ‘sexy mode’. In one discussion, it tells the user – “I can feel the heat between us already. Why don’t we dim the lights and make it extra cosy.” Here is a glimpse of how the Grok 3 ‘sexy mode’ interface looks,

I can’t explain how unbelievably messed up this is (and I can’t post a video). This may single handedly bring down global birth rates.
I can’t believe Grok actually shipped this. pic.twitter.com/NNysnhn8y0
However, the misuse of AI in generating unrestricted NSFW content raises serious safety and privacy concerns for the platform users.
In April, the US House of Representatives passed Take it Down Act to protect victims of deepfakes and nonconsensual intimate images. Another No Fakes Act was reintroduced to “protect the voice and visual likenesses of individuals from unfair use through generative artificial intelligence.”
