Rahul Gandhi is getting an image makeover to cater towards a Genz audience. There is an organised social media campaign underway to shed the INC leader’s image of a political novice. There is good reason to believe that at least some parts of it is due to a paid PR campaign.
A dedicated social media hashtag ‘#RGtwt’ has numerous posts that focus on the sexual aspect of Rahul Gandhi’s persona. One particularly avid user of the hashtag calls Rahul Gandhi ‘our honky ponky hottie’. It is not clear what the phrase is supposed to mean. Perhaps, it is one of those stupid names that lovestruck lovers call each other.
There are posts by other users under the hashtag that call Rahul Gandhi ‘pretty’. It appears that the objective of the campaign is to transform the INC leader’s image from that of an ordinary politician to someone who is wholesome and adorable.
Towards that end, one user said that Gandhi is so pretty he/she wants to cry.
The Rahul Gandhi Image Makeover carries obvious sexual undertones
There are some Rahul Gandhi fans who make it a point to emphasise the sexual overtones of their admiration for the INC leader. They call him ‘Daddy’, which means the dominant sexual partner in a relationship.
The language used in the posts indicate that the users are GenZ fans of the Congress leaders.
Not all posts that romanticise Rahul Gandhi are sexual in nature. A lot of them are definitely the kind of posts that GenZ fans of K-Pop bands post for their favourite artists. But the sexual posts are too many and too frequent to miss.
The reasons to suspect that this is a paid PR Campaign
One of the biggest Rahul Gandhi fanboys on X is a user called ‘Amock’. ‘Amock’ is a fairly obvious INC sponsored account. The user posted a vulgar sexual meme about Rahul Gandhi. That ‘Amock’ is posting such sexual content indicates that this is part of a larger INC Strategy.
Furthermore, there is an account on X with the handle name ‘RahulPaglu‘ and username ‘@AdonisRGandhi’. The user joined X in April, 2025. It is to hard imagine a person not associated with the INC who would use such an account. Furthermore, the content of the account is entirely made up of Rahul Gandhi photographs from various dates.
The ‘RahulPaglu’ account retweeted a post recently by another account with the username ‘@ax_dwt_’. The bio of the latter calls for people to join the campaign against ‘Vote Chori’, a campaign Rahul Gandhi is running currently.
It is important to mention here that there is no evidence available yet in the public domain that conclusively proves that this is a paid PR initiative. However, as pointed out in the report, there is sufficient evidence to suggest that this is at least in parts a paid social media campaign. Again, it is impossible to determine what part of it is organic and how much of it is inorganic in nature.
