It is the 26th of June, and here I am, squinting at yet another X post that makes me want to throw my cell phone into the nearest bin. John Cardillo’s tweet — that delightful image of New York voting pattern — lays bare a mess so appalling it could only be carried out by a society hell-bent on its own ritual suicide. Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist, has sashayed into the NYC Democratic mayoral primary by a whisker, and the numbers tell a tale of incompetence, betrayal, and a hierarchy of merit gone gloriously awry.
From a conservative lens that considers law and order, security, and competence to be a kind of a holy trinity, this looks like it is going to be less an election and more a slow-motion car crash. The Cardillo tweet clarifies that the lead roles of this crash would be played by the whites and the Asians. The Hispanics and Blacks, interestingly are the ones that are valiantly try to steer the ship back to sanity. But? They’re failing miserably.
Stupid, suicidal whites
Let’s start with the whites, shall we? A whopping 35.8% of them voted for Zohran Mamdani. Now this chap is a socialist pied piper promising government-owned stores and wealth redistribution; and nothing screams “genius” more than handing your hard-earned cash to a bureaucrat with the economic acumen of a turnip. It’s as if the Caucasian contingent has collectively decided to skydive off the aircraft of self-preservation, strapping their progressive ideals as their parachute.
Can anyone tell me why these folks are so suicidal? Genuine liberal guilt? Some shallow woke indoctrination? Or the Joker’s perverse delight in watching their society crumble? Whatever it is, it is a spectacle of stupidity that would make even the most stoic American conservative weep into his/her bourbon.
Zohran Mamdani: Not your “average” Asian
Then there’s the Asian vote — 58% for Zohran Mamdani, a number that raises eyebrows and lowers expectations. Cardillo’s thread hints at the obvious: these aren’t your model-minority engineers, tech coders, or Confucian scholars. These are a hefty chunk of once-illegal-now-legal immigrants, mostly from the Middle East, Af-Pak, Bangladesh etc. Hordes with their eyes on a longer game — the establishment of the ummah. Look at England, where the demographics are shifting faster than a chameleon under disco-lights.
You can also imagine Western Europe, which is teetering on the brink. Zohran Mamdani, for these guys, is just a brief player in their grand strategy. He is a useful idiot, a socialist stepping stone to a theocratic endgame. The irony is that they are handing him the keys ignoring the competence hierarchy that once elevated large portion of their communities too. A betrayal of merit wrapped in a prayer rug?
The last bastion of sanity
Meanwhile, Hispanics (30.2% for Mamdani) and Blacks (20.5% for Mamdani) look like to be the last bastions of sense in Gotham; the majority of them batted for Cuomo. One might want to applaud their effort to hold the fort, to resist the siren call of socialism’s gooey, genderless blob-ification, where identity dissolves into a mush of pronouns and handouts.
Like the old conservatives that cherished functional male and female roles—the bedrock of societal propagation, these groups too, seem to grasp the value of law, order, secure borders, and merit-based structures over the egalitarian mush that socialists peddle. Yet, their valiant stand looks drowned out by the suicidal majority. This is a grim reminder that even the sanest voices can’t save a ship with holes in the hull.
A suicidal spiral
Mamdani’s rise sure seems like a harbinger of doom. His gift to NYC? Socialism. Wealth distribution over wealth generation, a penchant for dismantling competent hierarchies without a clue how to rebuild, and a love affair with illegal immigration that undermines social cohesion. History keeps groaning under the weight of socialist experiments — Venezuela’s empty shelves, Cuba’s crumbling facades — and yet, there you have Gotham, voting for more of the same.
Too drugged, too numbed, or both, they have forgotten that societies thrive on compactness, order and competence. Not on shapelessness, quotas and handouts. The whites and Asians, in their collective madness, are handing the reins to a man who’d rather redistribute your washing machine than fix the potholes.
So why this suicidal spiral? Is it the exhaustion of an old order, the jaded cynicism of a generation that’s seen too much? The triumph of ideology over reason; a final hurrah for a West that’s lost its spine? The Hispanics and Blacks fight on, but the numbers don’t lie — 32.4% versus 34.9% is a razor-thin margin in a race to the bottom. Mamdani’s victory, if it holds, will be a crucial monument to the decline of the USA; a testament to a society that traded security for slogans, and competence for collectivism. As fence-sitters, we can only sigh at another chapter in the long, dreary saga of human folly.
