Nikki Haley visited India in 2018 when she was the United States ambassador to the United Nations. She came to India to improve ties between the two countries. During her visit, she made interfaith harmony the cornerstone of her public outreach. Then US Ambassador to India, Kenneth Juster, accompanied her during travel around Delhi.
Nikki Haley made 4 stops on a single day in June 2018. First, she visited the Gauri Shankar Mandir at Chandni Chowk in New Delhi. Next, she headed to Delhi 6 and offered prayers at the Jama Masjid. Then she prepared chapatis for ‘langar’ at the Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. To round off her tour, she paid a visit to the Central Baptist Church.

Nikki Haley comes from a Sikh family. She converted to Christianity after marrying Michael Haley. During her visit to India, she said, “Freedom of religion is as important as freedom of rights and freedom of people”.
Nikki Haley teared up after 2014 Golden Temple visit
The former South Carolina Governor became emotional after visiting the Golden Temple during an official visit to India. After wiping away her tears, she said, “I am not visiting the shrine in the capacity of a governor, but as a humble human to offer prayers to God almighty.”
Nikki Haley was on a visit to Punjab to build business relations between South Carolina and the Indian State. She said, “India is like second home to me. Building business ties with Indian companies is my personal desire.”
Haley also revealed that she has a lot of memories attached with India. She stated, “It took me 40-years to be here, but it’s worth it. It is a really special and emotional moment for me. This is the place that has so often been talked about by my parents. So many stories, so many memories. And now actually to be here is very exciting. It’s nice to come back to the place my parents belong to. I feel blessed to be able to relive some of the memories shared by my parents.”
Haley’s son is a Christian Nationalist bigot
Unfortunately, her son Nalin Haley does not appear to have developed the religious sensibilities of his mother. In recent days, he has developed an obsession with Vivek Ramaswamy. He described the Ohio Governor aspirant as “unassimilated” to American culture.

Nalin Haley accused Ramaswamy of slandering Christianity. He said, “Comparing the Holy Trinity to your 330 million gods is blasphemous, disrespectful, and a slap in the face to every Christian.” On another instance, he responded to Ramaswamy saying as a Christian, he wants only Christian politicians to represent him.
His obsession with Ramaswamy perhaps stems from the latter’s intense feud with his mother during the Republican Primary Debates. Ramaswamy described Nikki Haley as “Dick Cheney in three-inch heels”. Another point, he said, “This is a woman who will send your kids to die so she can buy a bigger house.”
Nikki Haley called Ramaswamy “scum” for a comment regarding her daughter joining TikTok. It appears Nalin Haley has inherited the intense Ramaswamy-hatred of her mother, but not her religious tolerance.
